Pierre Galea: A New Voice at the Helm of Malta’s Development Association

Local Business Veteran Takes the Reins at Malta Development Association

In the heart of Malta’s bustling capital, Valletta, the Malta Development Association (MDA) has a new acting general secretary. Pierre Galea, a seasoned local business veteran, has stepped into the role, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective.

From the Frontlines of Business to the Helm of MDA

Galea’s journey to the MDA’s top post is one of progression through the ranks of Malta’s business community. A graduate of the University of Malta, he cut his teeth in the corporate world, working his way up from sales and marketing roles to leadership positions in various industries.

His most recent stint was at the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry, where he served as the director of policy and communications. It’s here that Galea honed his skills in policy formulation, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy – skills he believes will be invaluable in his new role.

Galea’s Vision for MDA: A Voice for All Businesses

As acting general secretary, Galea is committed to ensuring that the MDA remains a strong, unified voice for Malta’s business community. He plans to build on the association’s existing work, advocating for policies that foster a sustainable and competitive business environment.

“Malta’s business scene is dynamic and ever-evolving,” Galea says. “The MDA must be agile and responsive, ready to tackle the challenges and opportunities that come our way. I’m eager to work with our members and stakeholders to ensure we’re doing just that.”

Galea also plans to strengthen the MDA’s relationship with government, ensuring that the business community’s voice is heard in policy-making processes. He believes that constructive dialogue and collaboration are key to driving Malta’s economic growth.

As he takes the helm, Galea is mindful of the challenges ahead. But he’s confident that his experience and passion for Malta’s business community will serve him well. “I’m excited about this opportunity,” he says. “I look forward to working with our members and partners to drive progress and prosperity for Malta’s businesses.”

With Pierre Galea at the helm, the Malta Development Association looks set to continue its vital work, advocating for and supporting Malta’s businesses as they of the modern business world.
