Welsh Choir Brings Harmony to Malta

Cymru in Malta: A Welsh Choir’s Mediterranean Adventure

Imagine the echoes of Welsh hymns resonating through the ancient stone walls of St. John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta. Next week, this unique blend of cultures will become a reality as the renowned Côr y Cwm Welsh Male Voice Choir graces Malta with their presence.

From the Valleys to the Mediterranean

The choir, hailing from the heart of the South Wales Valleys, will be making their Maltese debut as part of their European tour. Led by Musical Director, Ian Jones, the choir comprises over 70 members, all united by their shared love for music and their Welsh heritage.

“We’re thrilled to be performing in Malta,” says Ian. “It’s a chance for us to share our music with a new audience and experience a different culture. We’ve heard so much about Malta’s rich history and vibrant music scene, and we can’t wait to be a part of it.”

Malta Welcomes Côr y Cwm

The choir will be performing at two spectacular venues. Their first concert will take place at the stunning St. John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta on Saturday, 24th September. The following day, they’ll be serenading the crowds at the historic St. Paul’s Cathedral in Mdina.

But it’s not just about the performances. The choir is also looking forward to exploring Malta’s culture and history. From wandering the cobbled streets of Mdina to visiting the ancient megalithic temples, they’re eager to soak up all that Malta has to offer.

“We’ve heard so much about Malta’s rich history and vibrant culture,” says Ian. “We’re really looking forward to experiencing it firsthand and connecting with the local people.”

How to Join the Chorus

If you’d like to join Côr y Cwm in their Maltese adventure, tickets for their concerts are available online at Ticketline. Prices start at €15 for adults and €10 for children under 12.

For those who can’t make it to the concerts, don’t worry. The choir will be performing live on their Facebook page and you can follow their Maltese adventures on their Twitter and Instagram pages.
