Malta Search is on for two men wanted by the court

Malta’s Most Wanted: Help Find These Fugitives

Court’s Most Wanted: The Search for Two Elusive Fugitives in Malta

In the heart of Malta’s bustling Republic Street, a familiar sight for locals and tourists alike, a police officer scans the crowd, eyes flicking from face to face. But today, he’s not on the lookout for pickpockets or lost tourists. He’s part of a wider net cast by the Maltese authorities, searching for two men wanted by the court.

Who are the men wanted by the court?

The first, Darren Agius, is wanted for failing to appear in court on charges of fraud and money laundering. The 35-year-old from Msida is accused of defrauding several individuals of thousands of euros, promising them high returns on investments that never materialized. The second, Joseph Xuereb, is a 42-year-old from Birkirkara wanted for breaching his bail conditions. Xuereb was initially arrested for drug trafficking and is now evading justice.

Why are they still at large?

The reasons for their continued elusiveness are varied. Some speculate that Agius has fled the country, using his alleged criminal connections to slip through the net. Xuereb, on the other hand, is believed to be hiding in plain sight, moving between safe houses and changing his appearance to avoid detection. The police, however, remain tight-lipped about the details of their investigation.

“We’re following every lead,” says Inspector Mario Vella, leading the hunt for the two men. “We’re not just looking in the usual places. We’re also appealing to the public for information. Someone out there knows something.”

How can you help?

If you have any information about the whereabouts of Darren Agius or Joseph Xuereb, you’re urged to contact the police immediately. You can call the 112 emergency number or visit your nearest police station. Remember, your information could help bring these men to justice and make our streets safer.

In the meantime, keep an eye out. These men could be anywhere, from the crowded streets of Valletta to the quiet corners of Gozo. Let’s not let them hide in our community. Let’s bring them to justice, together.
