Cashlogy Marks 10 Years in Malta

Cashlogy Celebrates a Decade of Revolutionizing Payments in Malta

Imagine this: it’s 2012, and you’re at the bustling Republic Street in Valletta, trying to pay for your lunch at a local pastizzeria. You’re fumbling for coins, the queue is growing, and you’re wishing there was an easier way. Enter Cashlogy, the brainchild of Malta-based tech innovators, Kintech.

From Concept to Reality: The Birth of Cashlogy

In the heart of Malta’s tech scene, Kintech was founded in 2011 by a trio of visionaries – Jonathan Camilleri, Martin Bonnici, and Mario Aquilina. They saw the potential in contactless payments, a concept still novel in Malta a decade ago. Thus, Cashlogy was born, a simple yet powerful mobile app that allows users to pay for goods and services using just their smartphones.

Launched in 2012, Cashlogy was an instant hit. It was the first of its kind in Malta, offering users a seamless, cashless payment experience. From paying for parking at the Valletta Waterfront to settling tabs at local bars, Cashlogy made life easier for Maltese users.

Growing with Malta: A Decade of Milestones

Over the past decade, Cashlogy has evolved significantly, growing alongside Malta’s tech scene. It’s expanded its services, now offering bill payments, money transfers, and even a virtual prepaid card. It’s also integrated with popular local services like Malta Public Transport and Melita.

Cashlogy’s success hasn’t gone unnoticed. In 2018, it was acquired by Paysafe Group, a leading global payments provider. Yet, despite this international backing, Cashlogy remains deeply rooted in Malta, with its development and customer support teams still based here.

Cashlogy Today: Leading the Way in Digital Payments

Today, Cashlogy boasts over 100,000 users in Malta and Gozo. It’s processed millions of euros in transactions, making it a significant player in Malta’s digital economy. But Kintech isn’t resting on its laurels. They’re constantly innovating, with plans to introduce new features and expand Cashlogy’s reach.

“We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved with Cashlogy,” says Jonathan Camilleri, Kintech’s CEO. “But we’re not done yet. We’re committed to making payments even easier and more secure for our users.”

As Malta continues to embrace digital transformation, Cashlogy stands ready to lead the way in payments. From that first pastizzeria transaction a decade ago, it’s come a long way. And it’s not slowing down anytime soon.
