In the heart of Malta’s political scene, the Nationalist Party (PN) has added six new candidates to its roster for the upcoming general election. The announcement, made at the party’s headquarters in Pietà, has injected a fresh batch of faces into the political arena, promising a mix of youth, experience, and diversity.

Meet the Newcomers

The six new candidates are: Dr. David Agius, a lawyer and former PN candidate; Dr. Rosianne Cutajar, a social worker and academic; Dr. Andrew Agius Muscat, a lawyer and former PN candidate; Dr. Alex Muscat, a lawyer and former PN candidate; Dr. Robert Arrigo, a lawyer and former PN candidate; and Dr. Rosette Thake, a lawyer and former PN candidate.

These candidates bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the PN’s electoral list. They hail from various walks of life and professions, reflecting the party’s commitment to fielding a diverse range of candidates.

Local Connections and Party Reactions

Among the new candidates, Dr. Rosianne Cutajar has strong ties to the community of Żabbar, where she has been actively involved in social work. Her inclusion on the PN’s list is expected to bolster the party’s support in this locality.

PN leader Bernard Grech welcomed the new candidates, stating, “These individuals bring a wealth of experience and fresh ideas to our party. They will strengthen our electoral list and help us deliver a strong message to the Maltese people.”

The Labour Party, meanwhile, has reacted to the PN’s announcement, with MP and party spokesperson Clint Camilleri stating, “We welcome the PN’s new candidates. However, we believe that the PN’s policies and track record speak louder than their candidates.”

As the election draws near, the political scene in Malta continues to heat up, with both parties vying to secure the support of the Maltese people.
