Malta’s MJ Fans Take Hollywood
Malta’s MJ Fans Take Hollywood: A Night to Remember
Under the neon lights of Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre, a sea of gloved hands and sparkly jackets stretched as far as the eye could see. The reason? The world premiere of ‘Michael Jackson: The Last Photo Shoot’, a biopic that had fans from all corners of the globe, including our little island, packing the iconic street.
Malta’s MJ Enthusiasts Make Their Mark
Among the crowd were Malta’s die-hard Michael Jackson fans, who made the long journey to California to pay tribute to their hero. “I’ve been a fan since I was a kid,” said Malta resident, Mario Vella, who flew in specially for the event. “Michael’s music has always been a part of my life, so when I heard about the premiere, I knew I had to be here.”
Mario wasn’t alone. A group of Maltese fans, led by local MJ enthusiast and DJ, Mark Attard, organized a meetup at the famous Hollywood & Highland complex before the premiere. “We wanted to create a little piece of Malta here in Hollywood,” Mark laughed, “We even brought pastizzi to share with the other fans!”
From Hollywood Boulevard to St. Julian’s
Back home in Malta, the excitement was palpable. Local bars and clubs, like the popular Havana in St. Julian’s, hosted MJ-themed nights to celebrate the biopic’s release. “We’ve always had a strong MJ following here,” said Havana’s manager, “So we thought, why not make a night of it?”
Even local radio stations got in on the action. Bay Radio hosted a special MJ tribute show, with listeners calling in to share their favorite memories and songs. “Michael’s music has brought so many people together,” said one caller, “It’s amazing to see that happening here in Malta too.”
: A Global MJ Celebration
The biopic’s release has sparked a global MJ celebration, with fans planning events and tributes well into the new year. In Malta, plans are already underway for a massive MJ-themed party to mark what would have been the King of Pop’s 64th birthday in August.
“Michael’s music will always live on,” said Mario, as he prepared to join the crowd outside the TCL Chinese Theatre. “And as long as it does, we’ll be here, dancing, singing, and celebrating.”
As the sun set over Hollywood, the Maltese fans joined hands, ready to step into the spotlight and celebrate their hero. Back home, the spirit of MJ was alive and well, proving that no matter where you’re from, the King of Pop’s music has the power to bring people together.
