Within minutes of the explosion, a fierce fire engulfed the two-storey house. Neighbours rushed to their windows and balconies, witnessing the intense blaze that illuminated the night sky. The Birkirkara Fire Department was swiftly on the scene, battling the flames and ensuring the safety of nearby residents.

“I’ve never seen anything like it,” said Maria, a long-time resident of Triq il-Kbira. “The explosion was so loud, it sounded like a bomb had gone off. Then the fire… it was terrifying.”
