In the quiet residential street of Triq il-Kbira, Birkirkara, an explosion echoed through the early morning silence, shattering windows and sending plumes of smoke into the sky. The blast, felt as far as neighboring Msida, was the work of a gas leak that ignited, engulfing a house in flames.

Emergency Response

The explosion, which occurred around 7:30 AM, drew a swift response from the Malta Fire and Rescue Service. Six fire engines and a rescue tender rushed to the scene, battling the blaze for over an hour before bringing it under control. Neighbors watched in shock as firefighters worked tirelessly, their hoses snaking down the narrow street.
