Birkirkara and Fgura

Kicking off in Birkirkara, the Labour Party (PL) has fielded seven candidates, led by Prime Minister Robert Abela. The Nationalist Party (PN) is contesting with six candidates, headed by Opposition Leader Bernard Grech. Independent candidate Arnold Cassola is also in the mix. Cassola, a veteran environmentalist and former MEP, is known for his outspoken views on sustainability and corruption.

Sliema and St. Julian’s

Moving south, in the industrial towns of Cospicua and Kirkop, the PL has nominated five candidates, with the PN fielding four. Independent candidate and former PN MP, Godfrey Farrugia, is also running. Farrugia, a doctor by profession, is known for his stance on healthcare and social justice.

Zebbug and Zurrieq

In the rural districts of Zebbug and Zurrieq, the PL has nominated four candidates, with the PN contesting with three. Here, independent candidate and former PN councillor, Joe Mizzi, is running on a platform of local issues and community engagement.

Gozo

Across the channel in Gozo, the PL has nominated five candidates, led by Minister for Gozo, Clint Camilleri. The PN is contesting with four candidates, headed by former Minister and MP, Anton Refalo. Independent candidate and former PN MP, David Agius, is also running, focusing on Gozitan issues and decentralisation.
