He’s not rushing, but rather, greeting passersby with a smile and a wave. This isn’t just a scene from a political drama; it’s a snapshot of the change Borg is promising for Maltese politics.

Alex Borg is no stranger to the business world. As a successful entrepreneur, he’s built a reputation for his positivity and unity-driven approach. Now, he’s bringing that mindset to Maltese politics. “I believe that politics should be about bringing people together, not driving them apart,” Borg told Hot Malta in an exclusive interview.

Born and raised in Birkirkara, Borg understands the pulse of Malta. He’s seen the island grow and change, and he’s ready to lead the PN into a new era. “Malta is at a crossroads,” he says, “We can either continue down the path of division and negativity, or we can choose unity and positivity. I choose the latter.”

Borg’s vision for the PN is clear: a party built on positivity and unity. “We need to focus on what unites us, not what divides us,” he says. “That means listening to everyone, from all walks of life, and working together towards a common goal.”

This approach is a departure from the often divisive nature of Maltese politics. Borg acknowledges the challenge, but he’s undeterred. “Change won’t happen overnight,” he admits, “But I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and work hard to make it happen.”

One of Borg’s first moves as PN leader was to reach out to the other political parties. He invited them to a roundtable discussion, a gesture that was well-received. “We might have different ideologies, but we all want what’s best for Malta,” Borg says. “Let’s start acting like it.”

Borg has a clear vision for Malta’s future. Top on his list are education and the economy. “We need to invest in our children’s future,” he says, “That means improving our education system and creating opportunities for our young people.”

He also wants to see a more business-friendly Malta. “We need to attract investment, but we also need to support our local businesses,” he says. “Let’s make Malta a place where businesses want to be, and where our people want to stay.”

Borg’s plan is ambitious, but he’s confident that with positivity and unity, it’s achievable. “Malta is a small island with a big heart,” he says, “We’ve overcome challenges before, and we can do it again.”
