Tragedy Strikes: Four-Year-Old Boy in Critical Condition After Falling into Swimming Pool

Emergency services rushed to a residential street in Msida today, where a four-year-old boy was found unconscious in his family’s swimming pool. The toddler, identified only as Matthew, was quickly transported to Mater Dei Hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Rescue and Hospitalization

The incident occurred at around 11:30 AM at the family’s residence in Triq San Ġorġ Preca, Msida. Neighbors heard cries for help and found the boy’s father performing CPR on his son by the poolside. Paramedics arrived shortly after and took over, stabilizing the boy before rushing him to the hospital.

Dr. Marie Claire Aquilina, a spokesperson for Mater Dei Hospital, confirmed the boy’s critical condition. “We’re doing everything we can to stabilize him. It’s a very delicate situation,” she said.
