Malta Massage Therapist Denies Sex Allegations in Court
Court Hears Massage Therapist’s Shocking Testimony: “No Sex, Just Massage”
In the heart of Malta’s bustling Republic Street, nestled among the vibrant shops and historic buildings, lies the unassuming ‘Relaxation Point’ massage parlour. Today, it’s at the centre of a legal storm, as one of its former employees took the stand, denying that sexual services were ever part of her job.
From Relaxation to Accusations
The 35-year-old woman, identified only as ‘Maria’, testified in the Criminal Court this week, refuting claims that she had offered sexual services to clients. The allegations emerged during a police raid on the parlour last year, leading to charges against the establishment and several of its workers.
“I’m a trained massage therapist,” Maria told the court, her voice steady. “I’ve been doing this for years. I’ve never offered, nor been asked for, anything more than a professional massage.” Her testimony painted a stark contrast to the police’s allegations, setting the stage for a dramatic courtroom showdown.
Police vs. Therapist: A Tale of Two Stories
The police narrative, presented by Inspector Joseph Xuereb, painted a different picture. “We received several complaints,” he said. “Undercover officers visited the parlour and were offered sexual services in exchange for money.” The inspector claimed that Maria was one of the therapists involved in these alleged transactions.
Maria, however, maintained her innocence. “I’ve always respected my profession and my clients,” she said. “I’ve never crossed that line.” She claimed that the police had misinterpreted innocent conversations and gestures, twisting them into something sinister.
Her lawyer, Dr. Michael Scordia, echoed her sentiments. “My client is a victim of circumstance,” he argued. “She’s a professional, not a criminal. The police have jumped to conclusions based on flimsy evidence.”
Courtroom Tension: Awaiting Verdict
The courtroom was filled with tension as the day’s proceedings came to a close. Judge Consuelo Scerri Herrera adjourned the case, stating that a verdict would be delivered on a later date. The outcome will not only decide Maria’s fate but also send a clear message about the future of Malta’s massage industry.
As the courtroom emptied, Maria stepped out into the warm Maltese sun, her future uncertain. “I just want to get back to my life,” she said softly. “I want to go back to giving massages, to helping people relax. That’s all I’ve ever wanted to do.”
