According to data released by the Malta Police, Qormi saw a total of 127 road traffic accidents between January and March this year. This figure, while concerning, is not an isolated incident. Qormi has consistently ranked high in traffic accidents, with 2022 seeing a total of 453 accidents, the second-highest in Malta after Birkirkara.

Qormi’s central location makes it a major thoroughfare for commuters, with many using the town as a shortcut to and from the nearby Marsa and Ħal Far industrial areas. This increased traffic flow, coupled with the town’s narrow streets, can lead to congestion and increased accident risk.
