Teen Charged After Mellieħa Elderly Woman’s Fall

Imagine the shock of Mellieħa residents waking up to the news that a 17-year-old from their quiet, coastal town was charged with injuring an elderly neighbour. According to court documents, the teenager is accused of pushing an 82-year-old woman down a flight of stairs in Triq il-Wied, Mellieħa, last week. The elderly woman, a long-time resident of the street, suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized. Neighbours, who prefer to remain anonymous, describe hearing a commotion and finding the woman lying injured at the bottom of the stairs.
