Man Remanded Over Alleged Violent Sexual Assault in Msida

In the quiet, tree-lined streets of Msida, a man was arrested this week following allegations of a violent sexual assault on his former partner. The incident, which reportedly took place in the man’s apartment on Triq il-Kunsill, has through the usually peaceful neighborhood.

The 35-year-old suspect was apprehended by police on Tuesday following a tip-off from the victim. The victim was later taken to Mater Dei Hospital for medical examination, where she was found to have injuries consistent with her account of the events. The medical report, along with the victim’s statement and CCTV footage from the apartment building, will form part of the evidence in the case.
