Marsascala Shooting: “I Don’t Know Who Shot Me,” Says Victim
In the quiet, sun-drenched streets of Marsascala, a town known more for its fishing boats and traditional ‘tallinja’ than violence, a man lies in a hospital bed, grappling with the unthinkable. He’s a victim of an attempted murder, and he has no idea who tried to take his life.
Last Tuesday, around 8 PM, the usually tranquil Triq il-Kbira echoed with gunshots. The victim, a 35-year-old local man, was walking home from work when he was shot multiple times. He collapsed on the pavement, bleeding and confused, as the shooter fled into the night. The victim’s family rushed to his side, while shocked residents watched in disbelief.
Gun Violence in Marsascala: A Rare Occurrence
Marsascala, with its picturesque seafront and historic churches, is not typically associated with gun violence. Crime rates here are low, and the community is tight-knit. The attempted murder has through the town, leaving residents feeling vulnerable and afraid.

Victim: “I Don’t Remember Anything After the First Shot”
