Malta’s Aidan Ready to Shine at Eurovision

Malta’s Eurovision Star in the Making: Aidan’s Journey to the Big Stage

Imagine standing in the bustling Republic Street in Valletta, the sun warming your face, and the hum of the city around you. Now, imagine that instead of the usual chatter, you hear cheers and applause, all directed at you. This is the dream that 20-year-old Aidan Cassar is chasing, as he prepares to represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest. But his journey is far from a fairytale; it’s a story of hard work, passion, and unwavering belief in his abilities.

From Malta’s Got Talent to Eurovision

Aidan’s journey began right here in Malta, when he auditioned for Malta’s Got Talent in 2016. At just 16 years old, he wowed the judges and the audience with his powerful voice and charismatic stage presence. His performances on the show catapulted him into the local limelight, but it was just the beginning of his musical adventure.

Fast forward to 2021, Aidan won the Malta Eurovision Song Contest with his captivating performance of ‘Je me casse’. The song, written by Malta’s very own Muxu and David Kreye, resonated with the audience and the jury, securing Aidan’s spot at the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam. Now, Aidan is ready to take Malta’s music to the world stage.

Preparing for the Big Stage

Aidan’s preparations for Eurovision are in full swing. He’s been working tirelessly with his team, perfecting his performance and ensuring that ‘Je me casse’ is ready to captivate audiences worldwide. But it’s not just about the music. Aidan is also honing his stage presence, drawing from his experiences performing in local venues like the Mediterranean Conference Centre and the MFCC in Ta’ Qali.

But Aidan’s preparations aren’t just about the big show. He’s also been connecting with Maltese fans, hosting meet-and-greets and Q&As. He’s been seen at local hotspots like The Point in Sliema and Bay Street in St. Julian’s, always ready to chat with fans and share his journey.

Making Malta Proud

Aidan’s confidence and excitement are infectious. He’s not just ready to represent Malta; he’s ready to make us proud. “I want to show the world what Malta is made of,” he says, his eyes sparkling with determination. “We might be small, but we’ve got big talent and big hearts.”

And Aidan isn’t just talking the talk. He’s been using his platform to raise awareness about important causes, too. He’s been a vocal advocate for mental health awareness, using his social media platforms to share his own struggles and encourage others to seek help when they need it.

As Aidan prepares to take the stage in Rotterdam, Malta is behind him. From the bustling streets of Valletta to the quiet corners of our islands, we’re all cheering him on. We’re not just sending a singer to Eurovision; we’re sending a piece of Malta, a piece of our culture, our passion, and our pride.

So, on May 22, when Aidan takes the stage in Rotterdam, remember that he’s not just performing for himself. He’s performing for all of us. He’s performing for Malta.

And as Aidan himself says, “I’m not just going to Eurovision. I’m going to make Malta proud.”
