Pascal Barbot & Kevin Bonello Team Up for Exclusive Four Hands Dinner in Valletta
Malta’s Risette to Host Michelin-Starred Chef Pascal Barbot for Exclusive Four Hands Dinner
Imagine this: a culinary masterclass is about to unfold in the heart of Malta’s capital, and it’s not just any ordinary dinner. It’s a Four Hands dinner, a gastronomic event that’s set to ignite the local food scene. On the 20th of May, Risette, the beloved Valletta restaurant, will welcome none other than Pascal Barbot, the Michelin-starred chef from Paris’ L’Astrance.
Who’s Pascal Barbot?
Pascal Barbot is no stranger to the culinary world. The French chef has been making waves since he took over L’Astrance in 2000, earning it two Michelin stars in 2007. His unique style, blending classic French techniques with Asian influences, has earned him a reputation as one of the most innovative chefs of his generation. Now, he’s bringing his magic to Malta.
What’s a Four Hands Dinner?
A Four Hands dinner is a collaborative culinary event where two chefs work together to create a unique menu. It’s a chance for diners to experience the cooperation of two culinary minds, each bringing their distinct style to the table. In this case, Barbot will join forces with Risette’s own Kevin Bonello, creating a menu that promises to be a delightful fusion of French finesse and Mediterranean flavours.
Bonello, who has been at the helm of Risette since it opened in 2016, is excited about the collaboration. “It’s an honour to cook alongside Chef Barbot,” he says. “I’m looking forward to learning from him and sharing our local produce with him.”
What to Expect?
The dinner will take place in Risette’s elegant dining room, located on Old Bakery Street, just off Valletta’s bustling Republic Street. The menu, yet to be revealed, is expected to showcase the best of both chefs’ styles. Diners can expect a multi-course tasting menu, each dish a testament to the chefs’ creativity and skill.
While the exact dishes are under wraps, we can expect a symphony of flavours that reflect both chefs’ love for seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. After all, Risette is known for its commitment to Maltese produce, and Barbot is a champion of the farm-to-table movement.
As for the drinks, Risette’s sommelier, Alex Degiorgio, will be on hand to pair each course with a carefully selected wine. It’s a chance to explore some of France’s finest wines, alongside local Maltese favourites.
Seats for this exclusive dinner are limited, and tickets are expected to sell out fast. The dinner is priced at €150 per person, including wine pairing. It’s a small price to pay for a night of culinary magic.
So, Malta, are you ready to experience a taste of Paris in the heart of Valletta? Mark your calendars, and get ready for a night to remember.
