In the heart of Malta’s bustling Paceville, a night out turned into a brutal brawl that left a 17-year-old with a deep gash across his face. Now, police have a witness in their sights, as they piece together what sparked the violence that through the usually vibrant district.

Brawl Erupts on St. George’s Road

It was around 3 am on a Saturday when the fight broke out on St. George’s Road, a stone’s throw from the popular nightclubs and bars that line the street. The teen, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was left with a 10cm cut that required 40 stitches. He’s since been discharged from Mater Dei Hospital but is still coming to terms with the violent turn of events.

“I’ve been going out in Paceville for years, and I’ve never seen anything like this,” said a shaken eyewitness who wished to remain anonymous. “It was like a scene from a movie, but it was happening right in front of me.”

Witness Called In for Questioning

Police have since identified a key witness and called them in for questioning. The witness, a 25-year-old local resident, is said to have been near the scene of the crime and may have crucial information about what led to the brawl. Sources close to the investigation revealed that the witness is cooperating with police but has not yet been charged.
