Dara, born Darine Farah, is no stranger to the local music scene. The 28-year-old singer-songwriter from Msida has been making waves with her soulful voice and powerful performances. But it was her winning performance at Malta’s national final, MESC, that catapulted her onto the global stage. With her captivating song “Falling,” Dara secured her spot in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, held in Turin, Italy.

Prime Minister Robert Abela congratulated Dara on her achievement, “You’ve made Malta proud. Your talent and dedication have shone on the global stage.” The Malta Tourism Authority also hailed Dara’s success, seeing it as a boost for the island’s tourism industry.
Dara, meanwhile, was humble and grateful. “I’m overwhelmed by the support from Malta. This is just the beginning. I’m ready for what comes next,” she said in an interview with Hot Malta.
