Malta’s Election 2022: Voting Documents Collection Begins
Malta’s Election Fever Kicks Off: Voting Documents Collection Begins
As the sun sets over the historic Grandmaster’s Palace in Valletta, the hum of anticipation grows louder. Malta’s political scene is gearing up for a significant shift, and the first tangible step towards the polls begins tomorrow. The collection of voting documents starts on Tuesday, marking the official kick-off to our electoral process.
What’s in Store for Malta’s 2022 Election?
This year’s election, scheduled for March 26, is set to be a closely fought contest. The incumbent Labour Party, led by Prime Minister Robert Abela, is seeking a second term, while the Nationalist Party, under the leadership of Bernard Grech, is eager to reclaim the seat they last held in 2013. The election is expected to focus on key issues such as the economy, immigration, and Malta’s post-pandemic recovery.
But what does this mean for you, the voter? Here’s a breakdown of what’s happening and how you can get involved.
