Drugs Seized in Paceville: Man Arrested After Police Road Stop
In the heart of Malta’s bustling nightlife district, Paceville, a routine police stop turned into a significant drug bust last night. A 28-year-old man from Birkirkara was arrested and charged with drug possession and intent to supply, after officers discovered a substantial amount of illegal substances in his car.
The Arrest and Seizure
According to a statement released by the Malta Police Force, the arrest took place around 2:00 AM on Sunday morning. A patrol unit stopped the suspect’s vehicle on Triq San Gorg, a busy street leading into Paceville. During a search of the vehicle, officers found a quantity of cannabis, ecstasy tablets, and cocaine, along with paraphernalia and a large sum of money.
“The suspect was cooperative during the arrest and provided information that led to the seizure of more drugs from a property in Birkirkara,” said a police spokesperson. The total street value of the seized drugs is estimated to be around €10,000.
