Momentum Candidate Apologizes After Road Rage Incident

Candidate’s Apology After Road Rage Incident

In the heart of Rabat, a moment of road rage has sparked a conversation about political decorum. Driving down Triq San Pawl, a candidate for the Momentum party found themselves in a heated exchange with another driver, culminating in an accusation of a rude gesture.

From Road Rage to Social Media Storm

The incident, captured on a bystander’s phone, showed the candidate, Joseph Borg, allegedly raising his middle finger at another driver. The video, posted on social media, quickly went viral, sparking a storm of criticism and debate.

“I lost my cool,” Borg admitted in a public apology, his voice echoing the regret in his words. “I let my emotions get the better of me, and for that, I am truly sorry.”

Political Reactions and Lessons Learned

Political parties have been quick to react. The Labour Party’s spokesperson, Claude Grech, condemned the incident, stating, “Regardless of the provocation, such behavior is unacceptable, especially from a political candidate.”

The Nationalist Party’s spokesperson, Michael Piccinino, echoed similar sentiments, “This incident of maintaining decorum, especially in public roles.”

Borg, however, has received support from some quarters. “We’ve all been there,” said one commenter on the video. “He apologized. Let’s move on.”

Borg himself has vowed to learn from the incident. “I’ve let my passion cloud my judgment. I won’t let it happen again,” he said, to the upcoming election.
