Join Wave of Change at Xrobb l-Għaġin This Saturday
Change Waves Through Xrobb l-Għaġin: New Campaign Launches This Saturday
Imagine standing on the rugged cliffs of Xrobb l-Għaġin, the salty Mediterranean breeze whipping around you, as you watch a wave crash against the rocks below. Now, imagine that wave is not just water, but a movement of change, surging towards the shore. This Saturday, that metaphor becomes reality as ‘Wave of Change’ launches its latest campaign at this very spot.
What is Wave of Change?
Wave of Change is a local NGO that’s been making waves, quite literally, since 2019. Their mission? To clean up Malta’s coastal areas, one beach at a time. From the sandy shores of Golden Bay to the rocky coves of Xrobb l-Għaġin, they’ve been tirelessly collecting litter, raising awareness, and inspiring action.
Xrobb l-Għaġin: The Next Wave
This Saturday, Wave of Change sets its sights on Xrobb l-Għaġin, a rugged beauty spot nestled between Żurrieq and Marsaxlokk. The campaign, dubbed ‘Xrobb l-Għaġin: Our Wave of Change’, aims to clean up this picturesque location and raise awareness about the impact of litter on our coastal ecosystems.
“Xrobb l-Għaġin is a gem that’s often overlooked,” says Daniel Azzopardi, founder of Wave of Change. “It’s time we give it the care it deserves. We’re inviting everyone to join us, to be part of this wave of change.”
How You Can Get Involved
Here’s the practical bit. The clean-up event kicks off at 9 am sharp on Saturday, 25th March. Meet at the car park near the Xrobb l-Għaġin tower. Gloves, bags, and pickers will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you have them. After the clean-up, stick around for a group photo and a well-deserved picnic.
But wait, there’s more! Wave of Change is also launching a social media campaign, #OurWaveOfChange. Share your photos from the event, or any coastal clean-up you’re part of, using this hashtag. Let’s flood social media with change!
So, will you be part of this wave of change? Will you stand on the cliffs of Xrobb l-Għaġin, watch the tide roll in, and know that you’ve made a difference? The choice is yours. But remember, every wave starts with a single drop. Be that drop.
