Motorcyclist Injured in Regional Road Crash: What We Know So Far
Emergency services rushed to the Regional Road in Ħal Far on Tuesday afternoon following a collision involving a motorcycle and a car. The motorcyclist was taken to Mater Dei Hospital with suspected serious injuries, as reported by the Malta Police Force.
Scene of the Accident
The incident occurred near the Ħal Far roundabout, a busy stretch of road connecting the southern towns of Żurrieq and Żebbuġ to the rest of the island. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with traffic backing up as police and ambulance crews attended to the injured motorcyclist.
Motorcyclist’s Condition
As of now, details about the motorcyclist’s condition remain scarce. However, sources close to the situation have indicated that the injuries sustained are not believed to be life-threatening. The motorcyclist, a 35-year-old man from nearby Marsaxlokk, was conscious and breathing when transported to the hospital.
Police Investigation
The Malta Police Force has launched an investigation into the cause of the accident. According to a police spokesperson, initial reports suggest that the car, a white Toyota Yaris, may have turned left across the path of the oncoming motorcycle. However, they stressed that the investigation is still in its early stages, and no conclusions have been drawn.
