Heroin Haul: Man Arrested After €13,000 Worth of Drugs Seized in Ħamrun

In the heart of Ħamrun, a bustling town just a stone’s throw from Valletta, police officers made a significant discovery this week. Hidden away in a residential street, they found a stash of heroin with a street value of over €13,000. The seizure, made on Tuesday, has through the local community and led to the arrest of a 35-year-old man.

Operation Leads to Arrest and Seizure

The operation, carried out by theĦamrun Police Station, resulted in the seizure of 65 grams of heroin. The drugs were found in a residential property on Triq il-Kbira, a busy street lined with apartments and local shops. The arrested man, a resident of Ħamrun, is being held in custody pending further investigations.

Superintendent Keith Mercieca, the officer in charge of the Ħamrun Police Station, commented on the operation, “This seizure is a significant blow to drug trafficking in Ħamrun. We are committed to keeping our community safe, and operations like this demonstrate our dedication to achieving that goal.”

Community Reaction and the Fight Against Drugs
