Paraglider Injured in Dramatic Dingli Cliffs Crash

Emergency services rushed to the scenic Dingli Cliffs yesterday afternoon after a paraglider plummeted from the skies, leaving the experienced pilot with serious injuries. The incident, which occurred around 3 PM, through the local paragliding community and reminded enthusiasts of the sport’s inherent risks.

Witnesses Recall Terrifying Moments

Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic and frightening. “I was walking my dog along the cliffs when I saw the paraglider suddenly spin out of control,” said Malta resident, Maria Grech. “It was like everything happened in slow motion. The pilot tried to regain control, but it was too late. He crashed into the rocks below.”

Rescue Operation Launched

Upon receiving the distress call, the Civil Protection Department swiftly deployed a rescue team, including a helicopter from the Air Wing. The injured paraglider was airlifted to Mater Dei Hospital, where he remains in stable but serious condition. The Malta Police also attended the scene to investigate the cause of the accident.
