Father Joseph Marks 25 Years of Priesthood at Ta’ Pinu

Father Joseph Reflections on a Quarter Century of Service at Ta’ Pinu

In the heart of Malta, nestled in the quaint village of Għarb, the Ta’ Pinu sanctuary stands as a beacon of faith and devotion. For the past 25 years, Father Joseph has been an integral part of this spiritual haven, celebrating his silver jubilee of priesthood this year.

From Seminary to Sanctuary

Father Joseph’s journey began at the seminary in Rabat, where he spent years studying and discerning his vocation. In 1997, he was ordained a priest, marking the start of a quarter-century of service to the Maltese community. His first posting was at the parish of St. Joseph in Zejtun, but it was his move to Ta’ Pinu in 2002 that would shape much of his ministry.

Ta’ Pinu, with its stunning architecture and rich history, attracts thousands of pilgrims each year. Father Joseph has been at the heart of this spiritual experience, celebrating Mass, hearing confessions, and offering spiritual guidance to those seeking solace and comfort.

A Quarter Century of Service

Over the past 25 years, Father Joseph has witnessed many changes in the Maltese Church and society. Yet, his commitment to his vocation has remained steadfast. “It’s been a journey of growth and learning,” he reflects. “I’ve seen young people come and go, families grow, and the community evolve. Through it all, my love for the priesthood has only deepened.”

Father Joseph’s service extends beyond the sanctuary walls. He has been involved in various community initiatives, including youth ministry and pastoral care for the sick and elderly. His dedication has earned him the respect and affection of the Għarb community and beyond.

As he looks back on his 25 years of priesthood, Father Joseph is filled with gratitude. “I am grateful for the trust placed in me by the Church and the people I serve. I am grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to grow in my faith and to help others do the same.”

And as he looks ahead, Father Joseph remains committed to his calling. “I hope to continue serving the people of Ta’ Pinu and beyond, helping to build a community of faith that is vibrant, loving, and inclusive.”
