New Cultural Hub Opens in Valletta
VALLETTA – The historic St. James Cavalier in Valletta has been transformed into a state-of-the-art cultural hub. The newly refurbished space will host exhibitions, performances, and workshops, further enriching Malta’s cultural scene.
The new bypass, stretching from the Birkirkara roundabout to the Marsa junction, has been hailed as a breakthrough by local residents and businesses. “I’ve been stuck in traffic on this road for years,” said Joe Borg, a Birkirkara resident. “Today, I drove from my house to my office in half the time. It’s a real difference.”
The government’s green initiatives, dubbed ‘Green Malta 2050’, include plans to install 1000 electric vehicle charging points across the islands by 2030. “We’re serious about tackling climate change,” said Minister for the Environment, Sustainable Development and Climate Change, Aaron Farrugia. “These initiatives are just the start. We’re committed to making Malta a leader in sustainable development.”
The St. James Cavalier, a 16th-century fort, has been meticulously restored and updated to host a variety of cultural events. “We want to make culture accessible to everyone,” said Heritage Malta CEO, Noel Zammit. “This space will not only showcase our rich history but also provide a platform for contemporary art and creativity.”
