Truck Inferno on Marfa Road

Smoke and Flames: Truck Inferno on Marfa Road

Drivers on Marfa Road did a double-take yesterday afternoon as a truck transformed into a towering inferno, sending plumes of black smoke into the sky. The blaze, which started around 2 PM, caused traffic chaos and left residents wondering if they’d need to evacuate.

Firefighters Battle the Blaze

Fire services rushed to the scene, with three tenders and a foam unit battling the intense flames. The truck, a heavy goods vehicle, was completely engulfed, with flames licking the sides of nearby buildings. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and nearby shops and homes were evacuated as a precaution.

“It was like something out of a movie,” said Joe, a local shop owner. “I’ve never seen anything like it. The heat was incredible, and the smoke was everywhere.”

Cause and Aftermath

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but early reports suggest it may have been an electrical fault. The truck was carrying non-hazardous goods, which helped firefighters contain the blaze. Marfa Road was closed for several hours, causing delays for commuters.

By late evening, the fire was extinguished, and residents were allowed back into their homes. The charred remains of the truck were towed away, leaving behind a stark reminder of the day’s events.

“We’re just glad no one was hurt,” said a relieved resident. “It could have been a lot worse.”
