Nadur’s St Peter & St Paul Feast: A Night of Faith, Food & Fireworks
As the sun begins to set over the picturesque village of Nadur, a buzz of anticipation fills the air. The scent of freshly baked pastizzi wafts through the narrow, winding streets, signaling that it’s that time of year again – the Feast of St Peter and St Paul is upon us.
Nadur’s Patron Saints Take Centre Stage
Nadur, perched high on the island’s north-western tip, is one of Malta’s most scenic villages. It’s no surprise that its annual feast is a much-anticipated event, drawing locals and tourists alike. The feast honours the village’s patron saints, St Peter and St Paul, with a week-long celebration that culminates in a spectacular procession and fireworks display.
Procession Route and Timings
This year’s procession will start at 8:30 PM on the 28th of June, stepping off from the Church of St Peter and St Paul in the heart of Nadur. The procession will wind its way through the village’s charming streets, passing by the Triq San Pawl and Triq il-Kbira, before returning to the church.
Fireworks, Food, and Festivities
But the procession is just the start of the evening’s festivities. As the statue of the saints returns to the church, the skies above Nadur will light up with a dazzling fireworks display, launched from the nearby Marsalforn Bay. Meanwhile, back in the village, food stalls will be serving up traditional Maltese delights, from pastizzi and ftira to imqaret and canolli.
So, whether you’re a Nadur resident or a visitor to Malta, mark the 28th of June in your calendar. Join us in celebrating the Feast of St Peter and St Paul, Nadur style – a night of faith, food, and fireworks under the Maltese sky.
