Canon Joe Cardona Marks 25 Years of Priesthood

In the heart of Rabat, Malta, the ancient stone walls of the Church of Our Lady of Victories echoed with a special resonance on Sunday. It was here that Canon Joe Cardona celebrated his 25th anniversary of priesthood with a solemn mass, a quarter-century milestone that brought together parishioners, friends, and fellow clergy to mark the occasion.

From Rabat to Rome

Canon Cardona’s journey to the priesthood began right here in Malta, but it was in Rome where he was ordained on December 18, 1996. Since then, he has served in various parishes across the island, his warm smile and gentle demeanor leaving an indelible mark on countless lives. “It’s been a quarter of a century since I first answered God’s call,” he reflected, “and it’s been an incredible journey, filled with joy, challenges, and countless blessings.”

A Celebration of Service

The solemn mass was a testament to Canon Cardona’s dedication and service. The church was adorned with flowers, their sweet scent filling the air as parishioners filled the pews.
