Imagine standing in the heart of Xewkija, Malta’s third-largest village, and gazing upon a monument that seems to have been plucked straight from the Neolithic era. This is not a dream, but a reality that has taken root in the form of the newly inaugurated Ġgantija-inspired monument. The structure, a nod to the ancient Ġgantija Temples in Xagħra, has become the talk of the town, drawing locals and tourists alike to this once quiet corner of Gozo.

Xewkija, known for its traditional charm and the iconic Rotunda of Xewkija, the third-largest unsupported dome in the world, is no stranger to change. However, the inauguration of the Ġgantija-inspired monument marks a significant turning point in the village’s history. “This monument is not just a piece of art; it’s a symbol of our village’s potential,” said Mayor of Xewkija, Dr. Paul Buttigieg.

The new landmark has sparked a wave of excitement and optimism among locals.
