Malta Woman Accuses Colleague of Groping After Asking for Lift

The woman, a 35-year-old resident of Msida, has filed a police report alleging that her 40-year-old male colleague, also a resident of Birkirkara, groped her during the car ride home. According to the woman’s statement, she had asked her colleague for a lift home as they often carpooled to save on fuel costs. However, the journey took a disturbing turn when the man allegedly began to touch her inappropriately, despite her protests.

The Malta Police Force has confirmed that they are investigating the incident and have appealed for anyone with information to come forward. Superintendent Maria Dimech, who is leading the investigation, stated, “We take all such allegations seriously and are committed to ensuring that justice is served.”

Dar tal-Providenza, a Malta-based charity supporting individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities, has offered their support to the woman. “We condemn any form of harassment and stand ready to assist the victim in any way we can,” said a spokesperson for the charity.
