This policy explains how Hot Malta produces, checks and corrects its journalism. It applies to every report published on hotmalta.net.
Sourcing
Hot Malta reports are based on information first reported by established Maltese and international news organisations, official government and institutional statements, court records and other public documents. We do not publish rumour, and we do not present opinion as fact. Where a story rests on a single source, the report reflects that.
Use of artificial intelligence
Hot Malta is an AI-assisted publication. Our reports are drafted, edited and illustrated with the assistance of artificial-intelligence technology under human-defined editorial rules. We disclose this openly. AI assistance never changes our obligations on accuracy, fairness or corrections — a mistake is a mistake, however it was made, and we fix it.
Images
Featured images on Hot Malta reports are AI-generated illustrations created to represent the subject of a story. They are visualisations, not photographs of the events described, unless a caption expressly states otherwise.
Accuracy and corrections
We aim for every report to be accurate at the time of publication. When we get something wrong, we correct it quickly and transparently. To request a correction, email editor@hotmalta.net with a link to the report and the details in question. Substantive corrections are noted on the report itself.
Updates and developing stories
News develops. Rather than silently rewriting published reports, we publish follow-up reports as stories evolve. Every report carries its original publication date and time.
Advertising
Advertising on hotmalta.net is clearly labelled and is never presented as editorial content. Advertisers have no influence over what we cover or how we cover it.
Complaints
Complaints about any aspect of our output can be sent to editor@hotmalta.net. We aim to respond within five working days.
