Emergency services rushed to St. George’s Bay in St Julian’s this morning after a woman was struck by a truck. The incident, which occurred around 10:30 AM, through the usually bustling tourist area, leaving locals and visitors alike stunned.

The accident happened near the popular Spinola Bay, a stone’s throw from the trendy restaurants and bars that line the bay. Witnesses reported seeing the woman, believed to be in her 40s, lying on the ground as bystanders rushed to her aid. The truck, a large white Mercedes, was seen parked nearby, its driver visibly shaken.

Paramedics from the Malta Civil Protection Department arrived swiftly, stabilizing the woman before transferring her to Mater Dei Hospital. Her condition is understood to be stable, but serious. The road was temporarily closed, causing traffic congestion in the area.

The incident has raised questions about pedestrian safety in St Julian’s, a town known for its vibrant nightlife and heavy foot traffic. Locals have long expressed concerns about the lack of pedestrian crossings and the high volume of traffic in the area.
