Man Accused of Stalking Ex at Msida Bus Stop

Stalking Allegations: Man Accused of Harassment at Msida Bus Stop

Imagine the fear a mother must feel, standing at a bustling bus stop in Msida, waiting for her children, only to have her ex-partner allegedly threaten her just metres away from where her kids are about to disembark. This is the chilling scenario that unfolded recently, according to a woman who has accused her former partner of stalking and harassment.

Bus Stop Stalking: A Mother’s Fear

The woman, a 35-year-old resident of Msida, has filed a police report alleging that her 40-year-old ex-partner has been harassing her for months. The most recent incident occurred at the busy bus stop outside the Msida Church, where she was waiting to pick up their two children after school. According to her statement, the man approached her, making threatening remarks and causing her to feel intimidated and fearful for her safety and that of her children.

“I was terrified,” she told Hot Malta. “I didn’t know what he was capable of, standing there with our kids so close. I just wanted him to leave, to stop following me, stop threatening me.”

Harassment: A Pattern of Behavior

The woman alleges that this is not an isolated incident. She claims that her ex-partner has been stalking her for some time, following her to work, waiting outside her home, and making harassing phone calls. She has kept a record of these incidents, including dates, times, and locations, which she has provided to the police.

“It’s like living in a nightmare,” she said. “I’m constantly looking over my shoulder, wondering where he is, what he’s planning. I just want it to stop.”

Police Action and Support Services

The Malta Police Force has confirmed that they are investigating the allegations. They have advised the woman to keep a record of all incidents and to contact them immediately if she feels threatened or in danger. The police have also encouraged her to seek support from local services, such as the Women’s Rights Foundation and the Victim Support Malta.

“We take all allegations of stalking and harassment seriously,” a police spokesperson told Hot Malta. “We urge anyone who is experiencing this to come forward and report it. We are here to help and support you.”

If you or someone you know is experiencing stalking or harassment, you can contact the Women’s Rights Foundation on 21236024 or Victim Support Malta on 116006. Remember, you are not alone, and help is available.

In the meantime, the woman waits, her life on hold, hoping for justice and an end to the fear that has become her daily companion. “I just want to feel safe again,” she said. “I want my kids to feel safe. I want my life back.”
