Motorcyclist Injured in Gozo Collision: What We Know So Far

Emergency services rushed to the scene of a collision involving a motorcyclist on Gozo’s Victoria Road yesterday afternoon, leaving the rider with serious injuries. The incident, which occurred near the Triq il-Kbira junction, has once again highlighted the need for road safety on Malta’s sister island.

What Happened?

The collision, involving a motorcycle and a car, was reported around 3:30 PM. Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with the motorcyclist, a 30-year-old man from Xewkija, thrown from his bike and landing on the roadside. The rider was conscious but visibly injured, with paramedics quickly stabilizing him before transporting him to Gozo General Hospital.

The driver of the car, a 52-year-old woman from Għajnsielem, was uninjured but visibly shaken. Police closed off the road for several hours while they investigated the cause of the crash. As of now, no arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing.
