Malta’s Aidan Ready to Shine at Eurovision
Malta’s Eurovision Hope: Aidan’s Journey to the Global Stage
In the heart of Paceville, at the bustling street of St. George’s Bay, you’ll find Aidan, Malta’s 2023 Eurovision hopeful, putting the final touches to his performance. The sun is setting, casting a golden glow over the Mediterranean, as Aidan takes a moment to soak in the view, his homeland, before he takes the global stage. The question on everyone’s lips: Can this young Maltese talent make waves at the Eurovision Song Contest?
From Local Gigs to Global Spotlight
Aidan, a 21-year-old singer-songwriter from Msida, has been making waves on the local music scene. His soulful voice and captivating performances have earned him a dedicated following. But Eurovision? That’s a whole different ball game. “I’m confident and excited,” Aidan says, “but also a bit nervous. It’s a massive opportunity, and I want to make Malta proud.”
Malta’s Eurovision journey has been a rollercoaster. From winning in 2020 with ‘Destiny’, Malta has yet to qualify for the final since the COVID-19 pandemic. Aidan hopes to change that. “I’ve watched every Eurovision since I was a kid. To represent Malta on that stage, it’s a dream come true,” he says.

Aidan’s journey to Eurovision began at the Malta Eurovision Song Contest earlier this year. His song ‘I Am What I Am’ resonated with the audience and the jury, earning him the ticket to Liverpool. “It’s been an incredible journey so far,” Aidan reflects, “and it’s not over yet.”
Preparing for the Big Stage
With the contest just around the corner, Aidan is in the final stages of preparation. He’s been working with a team of professionals, fine-tuning his performance, and perfecting his English. “It’s not just about the song,” Aidan explains, “it’s about the performance, the staging, the whole package.”
Malta’s Eurovision fans are rallying behind Aidan. From social media campaigns to local gigs, the support has been overwhelming. “It’s incredible to see so many people believing in me,” Aidan says, “it’s a big motivation.”
As Aidan looks out at the setting sun, he takes a deep breath. “Malta is a small country with a big heart,” he says, “and I’m ready to show the world what we’re made of.”
