Teen’s Face Slashed in Paceville Brawl: Witness Questioned

In the early hours of Saturday morning, the usually bustling streets of Paceville fell silent as emergency services rushed to a scene of chaos. A teenager lay on the pavement, blood streaming from a deep gash across his face. The victim, a 17-year-old Maltese boy, was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital, leaving behind a trail of shattered glass and stunned onlookers. The question on everyone’s lips: What led to this brutal attack?

Paceville: A Night Out Gone Wrong

Paceville, Malta’s premier entertainment district, is no stranger to late-night drama. But the incident on Saturday was different. It wasn’t a drunken scuffle or a petty argument that spiraled out of control. This was a full-blown brawl, involving multiple individuals and leaving a young life forever marked.

The incident occurred outside the popular nightclub, ‘The Lido’, on Tower Road. Witnesses reported a heated argument escalating rapidly, with chairs and glasses being thrown before someone pulled out a blade. The teen, who was reportedly trying to break up the fight, was caught in the crossfire, his face sliced open from cheekbone to jaw.

Witness Questioned, Suspects at Large

Malta Police are treating the incident as grievous bodily harm. A witness, who wished to remain anonymous, told Hot Malta, “It happened so fast. One minute they were arguing, the next, blood was everywhere.” The witness has since been questioned by police, but no arrests have been made.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who was in or around ‘The Lido’ between 3:00 AM and 3:30 AM on Saturday morning. “We believe there are people out there who know what happened,” a police spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, the teen remains in hospital, undergoing surgery to repair the damage to his face. His family has asked for privacy during this difficult time.
