Malta’s Voting Document Collection Starts Tuesday

Voting Documents: Your Chance to Make Your Mark Starts Tuesday

Malta, are you ready to make your voice heard? The collection of voting documents for the upcoming local council elections kicks off this Tuesday, 15th March. But what does this mean for you, and where can you find your polling station? Let’s navigate this democratic process together.

Why Your Voting Document Matters

In the heart of Europe, Malta’s democratic spirit thrives. Your voting document, or ‘carta d-vot’, is your key to casting your vote in the local council elections on 25th March. It’s your chance to choose who represents your community, shaping the future of your town or village.

But what if you’ve misplaced your carta d-vot? Fret not, as you can still collect a replacement from your local council’s office. Just bring along your ID card or passport. Remember, every vote counts, so don’t miss out on your opportunity to make a difference.

Where to Find Your Voting Document

Starting Tuesday, you can collect your voting document from your local council’s office during their regular working hours. Here’s a quick guide to help you find your way:

    • In Valletta, head to the Council Secretariat in the City Gate. They’re open from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
    • For those in the Northern Region, your local council’s office should have your voting document. You can find them in towns like St. Paul’s Bay, Mellieha, or Rabat. Check their opening hours online.
    • Residents of the Southern Region can collect their voting documents from councils like Żurrieq, Żebbuġ, or Marsaxlokk. Again, check their opening hours online.

Voting Day: What to Expect

On voting day, 25th March, polling stations will be open from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM. To vote, simply present your ID card or passport, along with your voting document, at your designated polling station. Not sure where that is? You can find it on your voting document or check the Elections Commission website.

So, Malta, are you ready to make your mark? Let’s exercise our democratic rights and shape the future of our communities, one vote at a time.

“Democracy is not a spectator sport,” as the saying goes. Let’s get out there and vote!
