Malta Voting Document: Where and How to Collect
Voting Blues? Here’s How to Get Your Document in Malta
It’s election season in Malta, and you’ve checked your mailbox thrice, but no voting document in sight. Don’t panic! You’re not alone. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you collect your voting document, just in time to have your say.
First Things First: Check Your Details
Before you head out, double-check your details with the Electoral Commission. Visit their website (electoralcommission.org.mt), click on ‘Find Your Polling Station’, and enter your ID card number. If your details are correct, you’re good to go. If not, sort that out ASAP.
Where to Collect Your Voting Document
If you’re in the Malta region, your best bet is the Electoral Commission’s office in Floriana. It’s located at 126, St. Lucy Street, just a stone’s throw from the Granaries. If you’re in Gozo, head to the Gozo Regional Office in Victoria. It’s situated at 26, Republic Street, right next to the Old Prison.
Remember, these offices are open from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on weekdays. They’re also open on Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM. But listen, they’re closed on public holidays, so plan accordingly.
What to Bring and What to Expect
To collect your voting document, you’ll need to bring your ID card. No ID card, no document. It’s as simple as that. Once you’re there, you’ll find a queue (it’s Malta, after all), so be patient. When it’s your turn, show your ID card, and the nice folks at the Electoral Commission will hand over your voting document.
Now, if you’ve lost your ID card, don’t despair. You can still collect your voting document, but you’ll need to bring a valid form of identification. This could be a passport, a driving license, or even a utility bill with your name and address on it.
And hey, if you can’t make it to the Electoral Commission’s office, don’t worry. They’ll send someone to deliver your voting document to your home. But you’ll need to request this service. You can do this online (electoralcommission.org.mt/services/home-delivery/) or by calling them on 2560 1000.
So, there you have it. No more excuses. Get out there and collect your voting document. Your voice matters, and Malta needs to hear it!
