Wave of Change Launches New Campaign at Xrobb l-Għaġin

Imagine standing on the rugged cliffs of Xrobb l-Għaġin, the salty breeze whipping your hair as you gaze out at the vast, shimmering Mediterranean. Now, picture a wave – not just any wave, but a wave of change, rolling in from the horizon, ready to make a splash on our little island. This Saturday, that’s exactly what’s happening as the environmental initiative, Wave of Change, launches its latest campaign right here in Malta.

The Wave of Change is an innovative, community-driven project aimed at reducing plastic pollution and promoting sustainable living. It’s all about turning the tide on single-use plastics, one wave at a time. The initiative, brainchild of local eco-warrior and marine biologist, Dr. Samantha Lee, has already made waves (pun intended) with its beach clean-ups, educational workshops, and creative upcycling projects.

“We’re not just about picking up litter,” says Dr. Lee. “We’re about creating a cultural shift, inspiring people to rethink their relationship with plastic. It’s about understanding that every little action counts.”

So, why Xrobb l-Għaġin? Well, apart from being one of Malta’s most breathtaking spots, it’s also a hotspot for marine life. • Beach Clean-Up (10 am – 12 pm): Grab a bag and a pair of gloves and join the team in giving Xrobb l-Għaġin a much-needed spring clean.
