District 7: Meet Your Candidates in the Race for Your Vote

It’s a brisk morning in Msida, and the scent of fresh bread wafts through the air. But today, it’s not just the aroma that’s drawing a crowd. Candidates for District 7 are out in force, armed with posters, flyers, and a common goal: your vote. As Malta gears up for the local council elections, we take a closer look at the candidates vying for your support in District 7.

Who’s Running in District 7?

District 7, which includes Msida, Birkirkara, and part of Gżira, has a total of 16 candidates. They represent a mix of established parties and independent candidates, each with their own vision for the district. Here’s a snapshot of some of the key contenders:

    • Labor Party (PL): The PL has fielded five candidates, including incumbent councillor and former Mayor of Birkirkara, John Boxall.
    • Nationalist Party (PN): The PN is running with four candidates, led by Birkirkara resident and local businessman, Adrian Delia.
    • Independent Candidates: There are seven independent candidates, including former PL councillor and local activist, Joe Mizzi, and environmentalist and Gżira resident, Ruth Farrugia.
