Motorcyclist Injured in Regional Road Crash: What We Know So Far

Emergency services rushed to the Regional Road in Msida yesterday afternoon following a collision involving a motorcycle and a car. The motorcyclist, a 28-year-old man, was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital with suspected serious injuries. Hot Malta brings you the latest on this developing story.

What Happened?

The incident occurred around 3 pm near the Msida roundabout, causing significant traffic delays. Eyewitnesses reported seeing the motorcycle, a red Yamaha YZF-R6, collide with a silver Ford Focus. The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and landed on the roadside, while the car came to a halt in the middle of the road.

Paramedics from the Malta Civil Protection Department arrived at the scene within minutes and tended to the injured man. He was then transported to Mater Dei Hospital for further treatment. The driver of the car, a 45-year-old woman, was uninjured but visibly shaken.

Traffic Chaos and Witness Appeal

The collision caused major traffic congestion in the area, with commuters facing delays of up to an hour. The Regional Road was closed to traffic in both directions while police investigated the incident, reopening around 5 pm.
