65 AFM Recruits Graduate in Passing Out Parade
65 AFM Trainees March Proudly in Passing Out Parade
Under a clear Maltese sky, 65 recruits of the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) marched proudly in their Passing Out Parade at the AFM’s Hal Far Barracks yesterday. The ceremony marked the culmination of their rigorous 26-week basic training, transforming them into fully-fledged AFM personnel.
From Recruits to Fully-Fledged Personnel
The parade, presided over by the AFM’s Commander, Brigadier Jeffrey Curmi, was a testament to the recruits’ resilience and determination. The journey was not an easy one, involving grueling physical training, combat skills, and theoretical lessons. The recruits were put through their paces at various AFM training facilities, including the rugged terrain of the AFM’s training area in Ghajn Tuffieha.
One of the highlights of the training was the recruits’ participation in the annual AFM Open Day, where they demonstrated their skills to the public. This hands-on experience not only honed their abilities but also instilled a sense of pride and responsibility in serving their country.
AFM’s Role in Malta’s Security
The AFM plays a crucial role in Malta’s security, with responsibilities ranging from border control to search and rescue operations. The newly graduated personnel will now undergo further specialized training to contribute effectively to these missions.
Brigadier Curmi, addressing the graduating recruits, emphasized the importance of their role in Malta’s security. “You are now part of an organization that is the guardian of our islands’ sovereignty and security,” he said. “The AFM family welcomes you, and we look forward to your contributions in protecting and serving our nation.”
The Passing Out Parade was also an emotional moment for the recruits’ families, who watched proudly from the stands. For many, it was a moment of pride and relief, seeing their loved ones graduate after months of hard work and sacrifice.
