In a dramatic turn of events, a paraglider found himself in a precarious situation yesterday afternoon at the iconic Dingli Cliffs, leaving him with serious injuries and sparking a swift response from emergency services.

Dramatic Rescue at Dingli Cliffs

The incident unfolded around 3 PM when the experienced paraglider, a local resident in his late 30s, encountered unexpected turbulence while attempting to land at the popular launch site. Eyewitnesses reported seeing him struggle to maintain control of his glider before crashing into the rugged terrain.

Swift Response from Emergency Services

Emergency services, including the Civil Protection Department and the Armed Forces of Malta, were swiftly alerted and arrived at the scene within minutes. The injured paraglider was found trapped under his glider, with visible injuries to his legs and back. A team of paramedics, assisted by rescue personnel, carefully extricated him and provided immediate medical attention.

In a coordinated effort, the Air Wing of the Armed Forces of Malta airlifted the injured paraglider to Mater Dei Hospital, where he was admitted in serious but stable condition. The Malta Police Force has launched an investigation into the incident.
