Michael Farrugia: Brewing Up a New Era at Farsons

In the heart of Malta’s industrial hub, at the iconic Farsons Brewery in Mriehel, a new era began today as Michael Farrugia took the reins as the company’s new CEO. The 38-year-old, who has been with Farsons for over a decade, is now steering the helm of one of Malta’s oldest and most beloved brands.

From Beer to Business: Farrugia’s Journey

Farrugia’s journey with Farsons is a testament to his passion for the business and his commitment to the brand. Starting as a management trainee in 2009, he has since held various roles, including Marketing Manager and Commercial Director. His most recent position was as the Managing Director of Farsons’ beer division, where he oversaw the production and distribution of Malta’s favorite beers, including Cisk and Hopleaf.

“I’ve grown with Farsons,” Farrugia told Hot Malta in an exclusive interview. “I’ve seen it evolve, and I’ve been a part of that evolution. I’m excited to now lead the company into its next chapter.”

The appointment of Farrugia comes at a time when Farsons is not just a brewery, but a diversified business with interests in beverages, food, and logistics. Farrugia’s task is to navigate this complex business scene, driving growth and innovation while staying true to Farsons’ heritage.
