Paceville Father Allegedly Drugged Kids’ Meals – CCTV Footage Reveals Shocking Scene

CCTV Unveils Shocking Allegation: Father Drugging Kids’ Meals in Paceville

In the heart of Paceville, where neon lights and the hum of nightlife usually dominate, a chilling scene unfolded on a quiet weekday evening. CCTV footage, obtained exclusively by Hot Malta, shows a man, later identified as 37-year-old Joseph Xuereb, allegedly drugging his two young children’s fast food meals at a popular local takeaway.

The Disturbing Scene

The grainy black-and-white footage, timestamped at 7:35 PM, shows Xuereb, a local resident, ordering food for his 8 and 10-year-old children. He then pulls out a small, unidentified bottle from his pocket, pouring a clear liquid into both their drinks. He proceeds to stir the drinks casually, as if trying to hide his actions from the children.

The children, oblivious to their father’s actions, continue playing with their phones, waiting for their food. Xuereb then hands them their meals and drinks, and the family exits the takeaway, walking towards their apartment on Triq San Giljan.

The Aftermath and Allegations

Hours later, the children started exhibiting unusual behavior. They became lethargic, disoriented, and complained of stomach pains. Their mother, who had been out with friends, rushed them to Mater Dei Hospital. Doctors ran tests and found traces of a sedative in their systems.

Upon learning of the CCTV footage, police arrested Xuereb the following day. He has since been charged with administering a noxious substance and endangering the welfare of a child. Xuereb, who has been released on bail, maintains his innocence, claiming the liquid was a harmless herbal remedy.

Neighbors and friends in Paceville are shocked by the allegations. “I can’t believe it,” said Maria Azzopardi, a long-time resident. “He always seemed like such a devoted father. I hope this is just a big misunderstanding.”

The Investigation Continues

Police are currently awaiting the results of further tests on the substance found in the children’s systems. They are also reviewing additional CCTV footage from nearby businesses to gather more evidence.

In the meantime, the children have been discharged from hospital and are recovering at home with their mother. They are said to be traumatized but physically unharmed.

This incident has sparked a conversation among locals about the importance of CCTV footage in maintaining public safety and the devastating impact of domestic violence and abuse.
