FACT’s Founder Jesmond Pace Retires: A Chapter Closes in Malta’s Tech Scene
In the heart of Msida, the hum of servers and the clatter of keyboards have fallen silent. Jesmond Pace, the man behind FACT, Malta’s pioneering IT solutions provider, has announced his retirement.
From Garage to Boardroom
Jesmond’s journey began in the late 80s, in a garage in Birkirkara. With a Commodore 64 and a dream, he started tinkering with computers, laying the foundation for what would become FACT. Today, FACT is a household name in Malta’s tech industry, employing over 100 people and serving clients across Europe.
“I never imagined FACT would grow this big,” Jesmond reflects, sitting in his now-silent office. “It’s been an incredible ride, from that garage to our state-of-the-art headquarters in Msida.”
Leaving a Legacy in Malta’s Tech Scene
FACT’s impact on Malta’s tech scene is undeniable. It’s not just about the jobs created or the services provided. FACT has been a mentor, a cheerleader, a trailblazer. It’s the reason many young Maltese see tech as a viable career path.
“Jesmond didn’t just build a company,” says Mark, a long-time employee. “He built a community. He showed us that we could compete on the global stage, that Malta could be a tech hub.”
What’s Next for FACT?
Jesmond’s departure doesn’t mean the end of FACT. His daughter, Michelle, will take the helm. She’s been groomed for this moment, working her way up from the ground floor.
“FACT is my legacy,” Jesmond says, pride shining in his eyes. “I have every confidence in Michelle. She’s got big shoes to fill, but she’s more than ready.”
Michelle, sitting beside her father, nods. “FACT’s next chapter starts now. We’ll honor Jesmond’s legacy by pushing the boundaries, by continuing to innovate and grow.”
As Jesmond walks out of the Msida office for the last time, the future of FACT and Malta’s tech scene feels bright. A chapter closes, but a new one begins.
